Mumbai, Nov. 16 : Out of Suranga Lakmal's three sensational wickets on the opening day of the Test series at Kolkata's Eden Gardens on Thursday, his mother S.H. Chadralatha was more satisfied with Kohli's wicket.
Speaking exclusively over telephone from Sri Lanka, she said, "Virat Kohli's wicket gave me more satisfaction".
"Yes, the opener was out first ball but this he has done in the past also (West Indies' Gayle's wicket, at Pallekele, 2010-11). The captain (Kohli) was out for no score. He is a very dangerous batsman in the world. His batting record against Sri Lanka has been good. It was a difficult wicket to achieve of a superb batsman".
"Lokesh Rahul is also a good batsman but I reckon Kohli's wicket was more satisfying".
"Suranga did a very outstanding bowling. He was simply superb. Sri Lankan fans saw it after a long time against India and I am happy for my son".
The mother is not much aware about the statistics. Very few bowlers including India's Kapil Dev and New Zealand's Richard Hadlee have grabbed twice the first ball wicket. Suranga will now eye to equal Pedro Collins record who has achieved it thrice in Tests.
Suranga will need other five dot balls on Friday to surpass Jerome Taylor, who has bowled 40 consecutive dot balls since 2001.
"Hope he will do his best in the series. I am a proud mother", she signed off.
